Throughout his career, Stéphane Billette has combined social implication, political experience and a passion for economic development in his region. A native of Howick, he runs a grain farm.
He holds a B.A. in business administration specialized in finance and a MBA. He was involved in regional economic development for 9 years, acting as development agent for the Beauharnois-Salaberry Economic Development Society, industrial commissioner for the Beauharnois-Salaberry CLD, and general manager for the Haut-Saint-Laurent CLD. Until November 2008, he was also co-owner of a distribution company.
Very committed to civic engagement, he was a founding member of the Club Export du Suroît, and sat on the board of the regional Fonds de solidarité, Montérégie International, Montérégie Économique, the Abracadabra daycare centre, the Suroît Tourism Office and the Noranda Zinc Liaison Committee. He was also a member of the Beauharnois-Salaberry Socioeconomic Orientation and Planning Commission and the Highway 30 Action Committee.
Dedicated and outgoing, Stéphane Billette can count on a diversified set of professional experience that are, with no doubt, beneficial to the citizens of his riding.
Elected MNA for Huntingdon in the provincial election of December 8, 2008. Since February 10th, 2011, he is the parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks.
Elected since 2008 at the National Assembly, Stéphane Billette remains as active as ever on behalf of the citizens of Huntingdon.
