Pierre Paradis is MNA for Brome-Missisquoi since November 17, 1980. A lawyer by training, he has acted over the years as Minister of Labour, Manpower and Income Security, Municipal Affairs and Housing, Environment and Wildlife, as well as Parliamentary Leader for the Government.

From 1998 to 2003, he was in turn Leader of the Official Opposition, member of the National Assembly Commission, the Permanent Subcommittee on parliamentary reform and member of the Commission on agriculture, food and fisheries. During that period, he also acted as Official Opposition critic for health, regional development and parliamentary reform.

He currently presides the Commission on agriculture, food and fisheries in the National Assembly.
