Lise Thériault is a passionate woman very committed to the community in Anjou, where she has been living since 1993. She has been involved with a number of community and economic organizations in eastern Montreal, devoting herself to the welfare and quality of life of her fellow citizens in Anjou.
Co-owner and editor-in-chief of L’Édition, a publication for business people, and the Anjou Express , Mrs. Thériault was a President and founding member of the East Chapter of the Quebec Businesswomen Network, President and member of the Board of the Anjou Chapter of the East Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a founding member of the Board of Economic and Community Development Corporation of Anjou/eastern Montreal, President of the ethics and audit committee of the Anjou Credit Union and founding member of the Lucille-Teasdale CHSLD. She also founded the Anjou Youth Fund in 2005.
Elected MNA for Anjou in a by-election on April 15, 2002, she was since re-elected three times. She was employment opposition critic, President of the Institutions Commission of the National Assembly, Quebec representative and member of the executive committee of the Francophonie Network of Women Parliamentarians, Minister of Immigration and cultural communities and Minister for Social Services. In August 2010, she was named Minister of Labour.
Lise Thériault can rely on her long experience in business and community development and her deep understanding of local and national issues to best address the needs of her fellow citizens.
