Mr. Jean-Paul Diamond has been mayor of the Municipality of St-Alexis-des-Monts for thirty years and was prefect of MRC of Makinongé for ten years. As prefect, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Féderation québécoise des Municipalités (FQM). During his career, he also worked as political assistant within the office of the former Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Yvon Picotte.

Community involvement is very important for Mr. Diamond and he contributes his support and technical help according to their needs. He takes great pride in the numerous community organizations, which by their dynamism, participate in the development and greater welfare of their municipality. Among his numerous commitments, we count the Association des handicapés de Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, the Festival de la truite mouchetée and the Festival des neiges.
