Levis’ MNA, Mr. Gilles Lehouillier, was municipal councilor from 1986 to 2005, as well as leader of L’Équipe du Progrès from 1998 to 2001. Throughout his 20 years in municipal politics, Mr. Lehouiller has directed many big projects, such as ones regarding the spatial planning of the river’s edge, the revitalization of the traditional boroughs of Lévis, Lauzon and Saint-David de l’Auberivière and the set-up of La Maison des Aînés.

He has also presided the implementation of policies regarding the recognition of sports, cultural and community organizations as well as the creation of the Corporation d’aide financière aux organismes de loisirs.

After obtaining a bachelors degree in journalism and communications from the Université Laval, Mr. Lehouillier has worked as a communications officer at l’Office de planification et de développement du Québec (OPDQ), at the Ministry of Regions, at the Ministry of Economic and Regional Development and Research and at the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Regions. In 2008, he was appointed Regional Director of the Capitale-Nationale at the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Regions. Since his election in 2008, Mr. Lehouiller is Parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Culture, Communications and the Status of Women and Temporary Committee Chair.
