Gerry Sklavounos is a graduate in civil and common law from McGill University. Prior to his election as MNA for Laurier-Dorion in March 2007, he practiced criminal law in a private form and for Legal Aid. He was also a member of numerous community and educational organizations.

Re-elected in December 2008, Mr. Sklavounos is now Chair of the Committee on Health and Social Services. He is a member of a number of international parliamentarians’ associations and was co-chair of the Convention of the Quebec Liberal Party in March 2008.
