Born in the east end of Montreal, Filomena Rotiroti boasts a long experience in public administration, economic development and politics.
Previously a Quebec Liberal Party organizer for Western Quebec, she fell in love with politics during the 1995 referendum. A QLP coordinator until 1998, she became political advisor to the MNA for Anjou. She would then return to the QLP in 2002 to prepare for the general election, where she was the organizer for eastern Montreal.
From 2003 to 2007, she served on ministerial staff, first as an advisor to the Minister of Economic and Regional Development, and then from 2005 onwards, as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities.
She was elected MNA for Jeanne-Mance-Viger in 2007. She is currently Temporary Committee Chair and Parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities. A determined and bridge-building young MNA, Mrs. Rotiroti intends to contribute her political acumen to the benefit of her fellow citizens in the riding of Jeanne-Mance–Viger.
