After obtaining her Master’s degree in Social Science Administration at the University of Sherbrooke in 1984, Charlotte L’Écuyer started her career as a social worker ascending the ladder through health organization The Beaudry Commission, to later become Director General of the Pontiac Health Care Centre, position she held for eight years.

Elected as Member for Pontiac in the general election held on April 14, 2003, she has been, amongst other functions, the Parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Health and Social Services, Vice-chair of the Committee on Planning and the Public Domain, Parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Representative of the Québec Section of the Network, Member of the steering Committee of the Network, Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians, Member of the Québec Section, Parliamentary Confederation of the Americas (COPA). Re-elected as Member for Pontiac in the general election held on December 8, 2008, she is presently Vice-chair on the Committee of Transportation and Environment and Member of the Select Committee on the issue of the right to die with dignity.

Charlotte L’Écuyer is the mother of two daughters and very proud grandmother of Florence and Guillaume.
