Jean-Denis Girard

Well known in the entrepreneurial sector of Trois-Rivières, Jean-Denis Girard is the former president of the Chamber of Commerce Coeur-du-Québec (2011-13). He is the MNA of the electoral division of Trois-Rivières since April 7, 2014.

He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières as well as a Certificate as a Financial Planner. Moroever, he currently is studying for an MBA which he expects to complete later this year.

Attracted to the world of business, he worked as a financial security counsellor for the Mutuelle des fonctionnaires du Québec while working toward his B.A. Upon graduation, he was hired as a personal banking services representative for the CIBC in Shawinigan and Trois-Rivières. He then became a financial planner for the Royal Bank of Canada serving Trois-Rivières, Drummondville,  Victoriaville and Thetford Mines. In 2002, he was hired as an asset manager with the Caisse Populaire Godefroy in Bécancour.

As President of the Chamber of Commerce for Coeur-de-Québec, one of his most important files was saving the Gentilly II nuclear generating station.
